The amFar Gala is always one of the most glamorous and star-studded events in the New York charity calendar, and this year’s gala, held in Cipriani Wall Street, was certainly no exception! Founded in the early 1980s, amFAR (the american Foundation for Aids Research) is one of America’s biggest AIDS charities. It is a non-profit organization dedicated to AIDS research, HIV prevention, treatment, and education. It also works as an advocate for AIDS-related public policy, including care, treatment, and civil rights for HIV-infected people. The gala has been held annually since 1998, and has always attracted a host of celebrities from a variety of industries.

Kenneth Cole is chairman of the amFAR board of directors, so, as you might imagine, a lot of people from the fashion world are involved with the charity and its gala. This year, guests included Vera Wang, Donna Karan, and a host of famous models such as Naomi Campbell and Karlie Kloss.

It wasn’t just fashion designers and models in attendance though! One of the guests of honour was Rosario Dawson, and there were plenty of other guests drawn from the world of movies, including Michelle Rodriguez. The amFAR gala also attracted some of New York’s biggest families – Ivanka Trump, Paris and Nicky Hilton, and Justin and Indre Rockefeller all demonstrated their charitable generosity at the gala.

Perhaps the guest who made the biggest splash was Kendall Jenner. The nineteen-year old model looked absolutely stunning in an elegant red gown with an asymmetric neckline and a slit right up to the top of the thigh.

Overall, it looked like the event was a huge success – and rightfully so! AmFAR has raised more than $15 million from its galas over the years, and hopefully the rich and famous of New York will continue to donate heavily to such a worthwhile cause.

So, what do you think of Kendall’s simple but red-hot look? Was it your favourite, or do you prefer someone else’s?
