The British equivalent to the Grammys, the Brit Awards are the biggest night in British music. They are heavily anticipated for months, and this year were held in the prestigious O2 Arena. With guests including Taylor Swift, Orlando Bloom, Rita Ora and Cara Delevigne, it was bound to be a seriously star-studded event! The Brit Awards tend to be a little less formal than other big awards ceremony, but this year there were a few very formal gowns mixed in with the other red carpet outfits.
Rita Ora wore one of the most glamorous outfits of the evening. At first sight, the Zuhair Murad design looked like a sequin-covered golden gown, but it was in fact a jumpsuit with a train! She combined it with a matching golden tan, a pale blonde pixie cut, and dark smoky makeup.
Another star who opted for a formal outfit was Ellie Goulding, who was glowing in a pale pink, semi-sheer lacy gown by Alberta Ferretti.
Taylor Swift also wore a full-length gown with a train. Hers was a dramatic black and red design by Roberto Cavalli, featuring a red dragon on the back.
At the event as a presenter, and to support her friend Taylor, model Karlie Kloss wore an elegant custom-made Tom Ford dress. The slim-fitting plain white gown was accented with unusual black-edged cut-outs across her collarbone and upper back.
Singer FKA twigs made a much more unorthodox choice. Her Alexander McQueen outfit included a velvet strappy bra top and wide-legged trousers, which she wore underneath a sarong-type garment.
Cara Delevigne opted for a far more casual outfit, wearing slim-fitting trousers, a loose low-cut blouse and a wide brimmed hat.
Whose outfit did you like best? Do you think that the wins were well deserved?
