If you happen to find this non-mainstream blog post somehow, very likely, you are interested in horse riding. But actually, riding pants are not for riding only, they can be wore as casual outfits. Although I don’t see riding pants as something they you would want to wear very often, they are something that you may want to wear in the days when you just happen to be bored with wearing jeans. It is really not a easy task to style riding pants. For this blog post, I try to put together a list of the best ways to style riding pants. Whether you try them as actual riding outfits or casual outfits, I hope these ideas can make you look good wearing them.
Riding Pants with Turtle Neck Sweater & Tweed Jacket
Throughout this list of outfit ideas, you will definitely see a long of knee high boots. They just look good when put together with riding pants. This outfit is just a good example of that. For the top, you would want to wear a turtle neck sweater with a tweed jacket. For the bottom, wear riding pants with knee high boots.
Black Riding Pants with Blazer & Knee High Boots
This outfit idea is much closer to a typical street outfit comparing to the previous idea. Simply pair black riding pants with a red top and a black blazer. Again, wear knee high boots to match the riding pants.
Matching Blazer & Riding Pants
As a smart looking riding outfit, you can wear a two-piece set that consists of a blazer and riding pants. With these pieces, you can wear a high neck form-fitting sweater and knee high boots.
Wear with Plaid Flannel Shirt & Vest
This is another one of those riding pants outfit that can be wore as a casual street outfit. For the top, wear a black and red plaid flannel shirt and a vest over it. For the bottom, you can wear grey riding pants and black leather boots.
Wear with Blanket Sweater & Plaid Scarf
For a spring and fall casual look, you can wear a cream knit blanket sweater and a plaid scarf for the top. Pair them with grey riding pants and brown knee high boots.
Red Riding Pants with White Cable Knit Sweater
I am not a fan of red pants. But the color red and the riding pants just seem to work well together for some reason. As a smart casual outfit, you can pair the red riding pants with a white cable knit sweater and brown knee high boots. Wear a scarf to a feminine touch.
Wear with White Sweater & Plaid Flat Cap
Similar to the previous idea, this casual outfit consists of a white cable knit sweater. You can simply pair the sweater with riding pants and boots. The plaid flat cap in this outfit is really the difference maker.
Wear with White Vest Top & Scarf
You can wear riding pants in a really casual way by pairing the black riding pants with a white vest top. As usual, wear knee high boots with the pants. Adding a scarf to the outfit would avoid the outfit from looking too sloppy.
Ripped Riding Pants with White Tunic Top
To create a breezy feel, you can pair ripped riding pants with a white tunic top. Wear brown leather knee high boots with a matching purse. This is probably my favorite outfit among this list because I am pretty amazed by how riding pants can be part of a easy and cozy outfit.
Black Sweater with White Riding Pants
White is also a very popular color when it comes to riding pants. To pair with white riding pants, it is logical to use a black sweater. With the brown leather boots, this outfit simply can make you look smart.
Wear with Knee High Leather Boots & Plaid Blazer
This outfit is a beautiful riding outfit. It consists of a white button up shirt, a plaid blazer, black riding pants and brown knee high boots. By the way, if you are interested in knowing more outfit ideas of similar shoes, please check out our blog post on thigh high boots.
Wear with White Long Sleeve Polo Shirt
Many people, including me, associate polo shirts with horse riding. Indeed, a polo shirt and riding pants look well matched. As an example, for this outfit, you can wear a long sleeve white polo shirt with riding pants and knee high boots.
Wear with Marled Knit Sweater
In many other outfit-idea blog posts, I have mentioned the trick to look tall and lovely by wearing loose top, tight bottom. This outfit idea is a demonstration of that trick. For the top, wear a loose and colorful knit sweater. Complete the outfit with riding pants and boots.
Riding Pants with White Button Up Shirt & Black Blazer
I throw in this outfit here mainly to show you what a typical horse riding outfit looks like. It usually consists of a white button up shirt and a black blazer. For the bottom, it consists of beige hiking pants and knee high riding boots.
Royal Blue Riding Pants with Pale Yellow Sleeveless Blouse
This is a very atypical riding pants outfit idea that actually looks girly and lovely. The outfit consists of a pale yellow sleeveless top and royal blue riding pants. It must be the creative use of colors that make this outfit looks so casual and refreshing.
Here are some of my favorite ways to wear riding pants. I hope you find the outfit ideas useful. It is really not an easy task to style riding pants. Still, you want to play around with different outfit ideas just to see what look good on you and what don’t. I have to admit though that I wear riding pants that much mainly due to the tightly fit cutting is something I try to avoid as I always try to work in a more cozy outfit. But that’s just me. As I said, try them and have your own opinions on them.
