Chanel is one of the biggest French fashion houses (if not the biggest), with an incredibly high international reputation. The guests of honour at the Fall/Winter 2015 show in Paris yesterday really reflected this, with some of the most stylish women from all over the world making an appearance in their most fashionable clothes. From models to musicians to socialites, the fashion at Chanel was world-class both on and off the runway.
Model Poppy Delevigne was in attendance to support her little sister Cara, who walked the runway. Poppy looked the picture of Chanel-inspired elegance in a classic tweed dress with the signature Chanel tasselled edges. A fresh, spring-like golden yellow colour kept the tweed feeling modern. Yellow is an unusual colour choice for blondes, but this buttery shade really suited Poppy.
Leigh Lezark, true to her own style, wore a much more graphic ensemble. Her printed skinny pants and dress were starkly monochrome and very striking. Wearing the dress over a pair of fitted pants made an unusual and very fashion-forward silhouette.
Musician Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine also wore a matching set, although hers was pink suede pants and a matching jacket. The soft, dusky pink was a gorgeous colour alongside her vivid hair. She added a few bohemian touches to the outfit, including pointed and embellished boots, a couple of long pendant necklaces, and a wide-brimmed hat.
Miroslava Duma was another guest who opted for black and white, wearing a pretty printed skirt, with the matching jacket draped over her shoulders. She accessorised with a fun bag shaped like a giant pearl.
Lou Doillon, of course, wore an outfit that oozed her usual Parisian glamour. Her simple black skinny jeans and white blouse made a great base for a stunning black velvet kimono-style jacket, covered in elaborate gold embroidery.
Whose style do you like best? Do you think Leigh pulls of the dress-over-pants look?
